Cantanhez Forests National Park
Also known as Matas de Cantanhez, the Cantanhez National Park is located in the administrative region of Tombali, south of Guinea-Bissau and has a territorial extension of about 1,067.67 km2.
In the Cantanhez National Park, there are more than 30 different species of mammals, with a large presence of animals such as: buffaloes, black-bush edgy pigs, red-bush pigs, chimpanzees and an immense variety of monkeys. More than 40 different types of fish are consumed in Cantanhez, so you can choose which one your favorite!
Grouped into 13 tabancas, there are about 20,000 fixed inhabitants of the Cantanhez National Park, with a large diversity of ethnicities.
